Agricultural biotechnology has demonstrated many advantages for growers. To preserve the benefits and insect protection of these new traits, every grower must comply with licensing terms and must have an Insect Resistance Management (IRM) plan.

The educational materials available here are intended for growers and dealers. They are designed to provide information about proper stewardship of biotechnology-modified crops, including refuge requirements and management, insect resistance management and observance of intellectual property protection.

Available Courses

  • IRM Learning Center (NCGA), developed with the National Corn Growers Association, deals with IRM related to corn borers and corn rootworm pests, as well as integrated pest management.

  • IRM Computer Based Training (CBT), teaches the basics of IRM for corn products, how to calculate the refuge size, requirements on managing refuge acres, and an overview of the on-farm assessment process.
